For more than 40 years, Nlets has been facilitating the connection between local, state and federal organizations in order to share mission-critical justice and public safety data. Like APCO, Nlets is dedicated to 24/7/365 communication of the right information to the right people at the right time.

About Nlets
Nlets is an international, computer-based message switching system that links together every state, local and federal law enforcement and justice agency for the purpose of information exchange. The user population is composed of 50 states, District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, all federal agencies with a justice component, selected international agencies and a variety of strategic partners—all cooperatively exchanging a variety of data, including motor vehicle and drivers’ records, Canadian “Hot File” records, INS databases, state criminal history records, weather alerts, Mexican commercial license records, AMBER alerts, sex offender and weapons records, driver’s license and corrections images and much more.

The mission of Nlets is to provide, within a secure environment, an international justice telecommunications capability and information services that will benefit to the highest degree safety, security, preservation of human life and the protection of property. Nlets will assist those national and international government agencies and other organizations with similar missions that enforce or aid in enforcing local, state or international laws or ordinances.

Our vision is to continue to be the premier provider of the network, system and services that will support and encourage a totally standardized, integrated, international justice system. Acting primarily as a network provider and, to the degree required, a data warehouse, Nlets will endeavor to serve every stratum of the justice and public safety communities.

Nlets is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization, and is owned and governed by the states. Representatives from each state annually elect a Board of Directors and officers.
