NYPD Investigates 9-1-1 Tragedy

External News Source January 11, 2011 Industry

By Larry Celona, The New York Post
New York City — The NYPD is investigating a nine-hour delay in responding to a 911 call from a Brooklyn woman who went into labor during the crippling post-Christmas snowstorm and wound up losing her baby, The Post has learned.

EMTs didn’t get to the Crown Heights home on Dec. 27 until after someone called for help a second time.

Sources said a 911 dispatcher neglected to send out backup after the first police team got stuck in the snow.
