Architects Design Group Designs New Greene County/Springfield Public Safety Center
Springfield, MO (January 12, 2011) – Architects Design Group (ADG), in association with local architect Pellham Phillips Architects & Engineers, recently completed the design of the new $19.7 million, 50,000 square foot Greene County/Springfield Public Safety Center located near the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Nichols Street.
Local County and City officials celebrated the ground breaking for the new center on Thursday, December 9.
The center, which joins the city-county 911 Office of Emergency Management and new Emergency Operations Center, will be used to help coordinate more than 70 federal, state and local response agencies during a disaster. The building will also serve as a base for regional operations of Missouri’s Homeland Security Oversight Committee.
ADG designed the center to include all the necessary space for a fully functioning Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department, Emergency Operations Center, County Emergency Communications Center, County Information Systems, and offices for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.
