Public Safety Communications Officials to Descend on Philadelphia in August

Public Safety Communications March 2, 2011 APCO

Daytona Beach, Fla. — This August, Philadelphia will be home to the premier public safety communications technology, education and networking event, the APCO International Annual Conference. At least 4,000 public safety communications officials will visit the city to participate.

Event organizers have made changes to enhance the conference schedule in 2011. First, the exhibit hall will be open on Sunday from 11am-4pm to allow more time for buyers to view the latest products and service(s) and make decisions for their agencies’ equipment needs. Second, professional development sessions will be extended to 65 minutes to allow more time to delve into serious issues.

Additionally, APCO will hold its annual Sunday Welcome Reception at the Franklin Institute. Monday night will be event-free to give attendees time to explore and experience Philadelphia.

“Public safety communications officials give so much to keep our communities safe every day and are always there to help us during emergencies. We’re looking forward to bringing a great Conference to the Northeast for the first time since 2007,” said Barbara Myers, chief operating officer at APCO International.

The conference is scheduled for August 7th-10th, 2011. Public safety communications officials can visit http://www.apco2011.org for the latest conference news and details and make plans to attend. (Editor’s Note: Hi-Res Photos Available Upon Request.)
