PowerPhone Names Gary S. Moore, Dr.P.H., as Director of Training

PowerPhone, Inc., a leading provider of 9-1-1 emergency call handling systems , announced the appointment of Gary S. Moore, Dr.P.H., as its Director of Training. Dr. Moore comes to PowerPhone from Judge Med, formerly the Training Education and Certification Centers (TECC) for cardiovascular surgeons, where he served as the eLearning Director, delivering interactive, multimedia-rich online training programs to major pharmaceutical firms and medical manufacturers.
In addition, Dr. Moore brings more than 25 years experience in instruction and research as a professor of environmental health at the University of Massachusetts, as well as more than 15 years experience in online program development, instructional design and graphic illustration for major universities and government and non-government organizations.
Dr. Moore specializes in instructional design, curriculum development, blended learning, e-learning, web-based training, multimedia and CBT development, computer illustration and project management.
The author of several highly-successful books , including Living with the Earth: Concepts in Environmental Health Science; You CAN Teach Online: The McGraw Hill Guide to Building Creative Learning Environments; and You CAN Learn Online: A Web-Enhanced Resource, Dr. Moore’s publications are practical, hands-on books that are being used in programs across the United States to instruct faculty on all aspects of developing and implementing successful online courses and programs.
He has earned numerous awards and certificates for his pioneering work in distance learning, online teaching and instructional excellence, including the UMass President’s Public Service Award.
As the Director of Training, Dr. Moore will be responsible for the curriculum content of all courses, both certified and continuing education, as well as for the development of course delivery via new technologies.
