L.R. Kimball Promotes Jeremy L. Smith to Senior Consultant for NG9-1-1 Networks & Security

Ebensburg, Pa., April 25, 2011 — L.R. Kimball (http://www.lrkimball.com/), one of the nation’s leading providers of architecture, engineering and communications technology services, is pleased to announce that Jeremy L. Smith has been promoted to Senior Consultant for Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Networks and Security. Mr. Smith joined L.R. Kimball in 2009 as a Senior Cyber Security Consultant in charge of the company’s cyber security offerings. He will continue to be based in San Diego, California.

In his new role, Mr. Smith will manage the growth and operational strategy for an expanded set of market segments, including cyber security and NG9-1-1. He leads a robust team of experienced public safety professionals focused on bringing collaborative and effective solutions to the public safety industry. Mr. Smith’s efforts will continue to position L.R. Kimball as a national leader in helping 9-1-1 agencies transform their legacy 9-1-1 systems to NG9-1-1.

Mr. Smith brings nearly 15 years of network, cyber security and public safety expertise to his new role. Prior to joining L.R. Kimball, he served as the principal network and security architect with PlantCML (an EADS company) on the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York projects to replace their 9-1-1 equipment. In addition, he has designed and/or implemented network and security solutions for 9-1-1 call centers across the United States. He has also served as a technical expert to help clients understand, evaluate and shepherd solutions through the U.S. Department of Defense information assurance certification process.

Mr. Smith holds CISSP, CISA, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE+I, MCSA, CNE A+ and Network+ certifications, and has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Masters of Information Systems Management degree.
