America’s 911 Foundation Launches Joplin, Missouri Donation Website Page

WASHINGTON, DC – May 27, 2011 – America’s 911 Foundation, www.americas911foundation.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support and advocacy of Active First Responders and their families, is scheduled to travel to Joplin, Missouri  this evening at 9:00 PM, Friday, May 27th. Leaving from Virginia, the Foundation will be joined by the Foundation’s National Volunteer Emergency Team (NVET) to aid in the rescue and recovery efforts taking place throughout the tornado stricken region.

The Foundation has created a webpage, Joplin, MO Donation Page, dedicated for donations to assist in the purchases food, fuel and supplies for volunteers while on site in Joplin.

Once in Joplin, the Foundation’s trailer will be located outside the Missouri Southern State University’s Billingsly Student Center. The Foundation will be delivering campers and bedding in order to provide additional shelter and sleeping arrangements for volunteers. The Foundation will also be providing additional EMS and First Responder volunteers through their NVET, which was organized by the Foundation in an effort to create a national emergency response database to help identify regional volunteers to respond quickly in light of a tragedy, such as the event that occurred in Joplin.

America’s 911 Foundation, plans to stay in Joplin through Friday, June 3rd and asks that anyone interested in joining this effort or becoming apart of NVET to please contact the Foundation’s Vice President, Christa Statler.
