Eagles Legend to Speak about Achieving Dreams in Philadelphia
Daytona Beach, Fla. — The Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International’s Annual Conference attendees will get a true Philadelphia experience. Vince Papale, the former Philadelphia Eagles walk-on legend, is the keynote speaker at the August public safety communications event.
At least 4,000 public safety professionals will visit the city to participate in the 77th APCO International Conference & Exposition, the premier public safety communications event that exposes government agency executives, dispatchers, and technicians to the latest training and technology to help them save lives.
“We are honored to present such an inspirational speaker to the dedicated public safety professionals attending our annual conference,” said Bill Carrow, president of APCO International.
At the Conference’s opening general session, Papale will discuss his rise from 30-year old Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder, schoolteacher and part-time bartender, to a four year NFL Eagles football player. Papale’s journey from humble working-class beginnings and troubled home life to successful professional athlete and businessman is the subject of a book and major motion picture and a story that appeals to audiences from all walks of life.
Carrow added, “Papale is a true hometown hero and it will be exciting for our attendees to not only hear his story but apply his hard work and passion to their personal and professional lives.”
The conference is scheduled for August 7th-10th, 2011. Details on education sessions, other speakers, exhibiting and attending are available at www.apco2011.org.
