Cassidian Communications to Display Public Safety Innovations at 2011 NENA Conference
Temecula, Calif., June 15, 2011¾Emergency communications leader Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, announced today that it will exhibit its Next Generation (NG) 9-1-1 Innovation Demo Suite in booth 701 at the 2011 National Emergency Number Association (NENA) conference in Minneapolis, Minn., from June 18-23.
The company will display its full-circle security and communications portfolio and showcase the integration available today—from receipt of a 9-1-1 call in the call center, to radio dispatch, to the mass notification of citizens in an emergency. Additional demonstrations showing how the integration and management of these applications are evolving in the NG9-1-1 and broadband environments also will be on hand.
“The next generation of emergency communications management will rely on the seamless integration of solutions that may be from the same company or a variety of companies,” said Darrin J. Reilly, chief operating officer, Cassidian Communications. “Our strategy focuses on increasing the integration and management levels necessary in an Internet Protocol (IP) world that are driving the ‘digital bookends’ of data in all forms in emergency communication. This integrated delivery at the application level ultimately will increase operational efficiency and improve public safety response.”
Cassidian Communications also will be showcasing a multimedia demonstration presenting a new approach to public safety situational awareness based on advanced Command and Control capabilities previously accessible only to elite military agencies.
The concept demonstration to be presented is an advanced multi-sensory platform that sets a new standard for how much information can be presented and managed without overwhelming the user, using technology to preview capabilities expected to be widely available in the coming years.
Continuing on the theme of the future of NG9-1-1, Jeff Gillan, product area manager for Cassidian Communications, will discuss how intelligent back-room equipment consolidation can support the increasing demands of public safety with a vastly reduced equipment and maintenance footprint. He will demonstrate how this can be done while maintaining the highest levels of service and system availability through geo-diversity and redundancy, using either premise-based or hosted configurations. The Virtual PSAP Consolidation presentation will be held on Monday, June 20, at 10:15 a.m. in the Exhibit Hall Technology Showcase Presentation Area A.
Cassidian Communications industry expert Richard Kelly will participate in the Is Your GIS Data Ready for NG9-1-1 panel on Wednesday, June 15, at 2:15 p.m. This open-forum educational session will discuss how locally-developed GIS data is imperative to NG9-1-1 for call routing and call handling. Open discussions will be held on a variety of issues, including data reconciliation and data maintenance considerations needed at the local level to accommodate regional datasets.
Cassidian Communications continues to serve clients ranging from public safety operations to Fortune 1000 corporations to federal agencies. Collectively, the company has more than 40 years of experience deploying 9-1-1 call processing solutions, notification solutions and first-responder digital trunked radio networks.
