Nationally Accredited Fire Department Adds CommandScope From RealView

Company Representative June 16, 2011 Product & Service Announcements

Chicago, Ill. – June 15, 2011 – RealView LLC, a Microsoft® Partner providing mobile inspection and emergency pre-plan programs for office buildings, fire departments, hospitality, education and others, today announced implementation of its CommandScope Emergency Pre-Plan for the Henderson, Nev. fire department. The latest RealView addition in a nationwide advance toward building technology, Henderson Fire Department will benefit from real-time, electronic building intelligence both before and during emergency scenarios.

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s “Fire Loss In The United States During 2009” report, fires resulted in more than 3,000 fatalities in the U.S. in 2009, with fire departments responding to more than 1.3 million fires. Designed to combat these incidents with advance strategy and actionable information, CommandScope from RealView provides first responders with an electronic pre-plan vital for a more effective emergency response. It includes detailed building construction and fire protection information including site plans, floor plans, hazardous material locations, geographical maps, photos and more. First responders supported by CommandScope head to the scene of emergencies empowered to respond with knowledge rather than by trial and error, saving time and saving lives.

“Our department had been pre-planning all of our buildings on paper and now find the user-friendly design of RealView’s software to be a total solution,” says Henderson’s Chief of Special Operations, Rob Richardson. “Adding our GIS maps, building floor plans, and other data to CommandScope is as easy as adding an attachment to an e-mail.”

CommandScope is also a solution for Information Technology departments because, as a hosted, client-server software, there is no need to worry about updates, installation, training, or managing server space.

“CommandScope is ideal because it gives Henderson’s responders access to critical building data,” says Lee Grant, IT Project Manager for Henderson Fire Dept. “It also makes our lives as the IT professionals handling their technology all the more easy because it’s a turnkey solution for the department.”
