Zetron’s Acom EVO Dispatch Console Tests Successfully with Raytheon’s P25 Mobile Radio System

Company Representative August 4, 2011 Product & Service Announcements

Redmond, Wash., Aug. 4, 2011 — Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communications systems worldwide, announced that its Advanced Communication (Acom) EVO digital dispatch console system has successfully completed Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Project 25 (P25)-based testing with Raytheon’s P25net land mobile radio system. This demonstrates both manufacturers’ commitment to interoperability, customer choice and open standards. It is yet another demonstration of Zetron’s leadership in providing TIA P25-compliant dispatch console systems.

Acom EVO
Zetron’s Acom EVO system is an IP-based, radio dispatch console solution. Its use of P25 interfaces such as the CSSI and Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI) ensures Acom’s compatibility with equipment that also employs open standards.

The Value of Testing
The test for the Acom EVO and P25net land mobile radio systems was written according to the TIA P25 Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) standard to ensure that the systems will integrate and perform together as the standard requires.

“Increasingly, customers are interested in open-architecture systems that give them the freedom to select quality equipment from a wide range of manufacturers,” said Bill Iannacci, director of Civil Communications Solutions, Raytheon Network Centric Systems. “It was in response to this customer demand and both companies’ commitment to open standards that Raytheon and Zetron decided to perform this interoperability testing.”

”We are pleased to add Raytheon to the list of manufacturers that have successfully completed interoperability testing with Zetron,” said Zetron president and CEO, Ellen O’Hara. “Combining Zetron’s Acom dispatch console with systems such as Raytheon’s P25net provides customers with the capability, reliability and flexibility their operations require.”
