The Blue & White Gala Combined Business & Pleasure
The gavel passed from Bill Carrow to Gregg Riddle on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 9, when conference attendees gathered at the Blue & White Gala to witness the swearing in of the new Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of APCO International — President Gregg Riddle, First Vice President Terry Hall and Immediate Past President Bill Carrow; the Second Vice President position remains open for now.
Also during the Gala, one of the association’s highest awards, the J Rhett McMillan Award was presented to David Swan for his work to preserve and maintain APCO’s history, specifically for establishing the APCO International Historical Collection at Bradley University in Illinois. Although he could not be present to personally receive the award, he recorded a short video to thank the association for the honor. “It’s been awing,” he said, since learning of the award. “It’s highly significant to me because I knew and worked with J Rhett McMillan as I moved up through the ranks in Illinois.”
After the business was completed, attendees were entertained by the musical stylings of Michael and Amy on Dueling Pianos.
A good time was had by all.
