Trimble Adds Vehicle Docking Station to its Yuma Tablet Computer Accessories Product Line

Company Representative September 28, 2011 Product & Service Announcements

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sep. 23, 2011 – Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today the availability of a Vehicle Docking Station for its Yuma® rugged tablet computer.

The Trimble Yuma Vehicle Docking Station, compatible with RAM Mount components, can be installed in virtually any vehicle and expands the connectivity of the Yuma tablet computer. When mounted on the docking station, the Yuma tablet can automatically connect to its peripheral devices, including an optional external Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna. With its quick release, the Vehicle Docking Station allows users to easily remove the Yuma tablet computer and carry it in the field. The docking station is connected to the vehicle’s electrical system, enabling the tablet’s batteries to charge while the vehicle is running.

The rugged and mobile Yuma tablet features Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS and two geotag-enabled cameras. The Yuma is expandable via two USB 2.0 slots, an ExpressCard/34 slot and one SD/SDHC slot. The seven-inch sunlight-readable WSVGA touchscreen display is ideal for a host of mapping and form-based applications.

“Since its introduction, the Yuma rugged, mobile computing platform has been very well received by mobile workers that require a ‘tough as nails’ Windows 7 tablet PC. The Yuma Vehicle Docking Station provides field workers with more flexibility for in-vehicle use with power and accessory options such as antennas, keyboards and other USB peripherals,” said Robert Davis, director of sales for Trimble’s Mobile Computing Solutions Division.
