The event will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 8:00 am, beginning and ending at Aunt Catfish’s Restaurant, Port Orange, Fl.

Immediately following the race, APCO will present awards to the top three overall male and female champions, the top masters (55+) male and female, and the top three finishers in female and male age groups from 1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.

The post race celebration includes a complimentary pancake breakfast for all participants. Random drawings featuring prizes like Road ID gift certificates will also be held throughout the awards ceremony for runners and walkers.

“This event is just a small way to say thank you to the ones who are always on call to save so many lives. APCO is hoping to bring the community together and give our first responders a little token of our appreciation,” said Patricia Giannini, APCO International’s events manager.

Registration is now open to the public and costs $25 until January 6, 2012 and $30 from January 7, 2012 until the morning of the race. Please visit apco5k.apcointl.org for more information on the run/walk, to register and see sponsorship opportunities.
