FCC’s Final Rule on Amending the Definition of Interconnected VoIP Service Sent to House

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 — The House Energy and Commerce Committee has received an executive branch communication from Federal Communications Commission.

The deputy bureau chief, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau at the FCC has transmitted, pursuant to law, [5 U.S.C. 801(a)(1)(A)], the Commission’s final rule – Amending the Definition of Interconnected VoIP Service in Section 9.3 of the Commission’s Rules, Wireless E911 Location Accuracy Requirements, E911 Requirements for IP-Enabled Service Providers.

The document [GN Docket No.: 11-117] [PS Docket No.: 07-114] [WC Docket No.: 05-196] was received by the house on Dec. 19, 2011.
