Some of you may remember a “found” video that made the rounds a few years ago, that showed a “real” alien attack on two “missing” hikers in our area. (It was, in fact, impossible to use fewer quotes in that sentence. I wanted no confusion: This is most definitely NOT the National Enquirer you’re reading.)

Among the numerous inaccuracies in this supposed “real” video footage were the mentions of Tacoma County, the Tacoma County Sheriff’s Office and Red Rock State Park — none of which exist in Washington.

This video was originally brought to our attention several years ago by citizens from other parts of the country.

In various versions, this video reemerged and is making waves on YouTube and has again renewed concern. I’ve already received emails from citizens interested in finding out the validity of this video.

As you may have already guessed, it is a hoax and/or a student film a la The Blair Witch Project.
