Ryan McLaughlin,  Bangor Daily News (Maine)

MANCHESTER, Maine — A woman who repeatedly dialed 9-1-1 but didn’t have an emergency was arrested and charged with misusing the emergency system, according to police.

Susan Walker, 50, was apparently upset that her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend were trying to leave her Treasure Road home early Sunday morning, Capt. Dan Davies of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said.

Walker, whom Davies said was intoxicated, called 9-1-1 to report a family dispute when the daughter and the boyfriend initially tried to leave, Davies said.

She continued to dial 9-1-1 even after sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, telling dispatch that nobody was willing to assist her, according to Davies.

“They warned her not to do it,” Davies said.

Deputies arrested Walker and charged her with misuse of 9-1-1, a Class E misdemeanor, Davies said.

Walker was booked into the Kennebec County Jail and later released.
