New Faces on APCO International’s Board of Directors

Peggy Fouts, Kimberly Burdick and Don Whitney swore to uphold the APCO International constitution and bylaws when taking the oath of office for the Board of Directors on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

New APCO International President Terry Hall administered the oath of office to three members of the Board of Directors during the closing luncheon of the 78th Annual APCO International Conference & Expo on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Peggy Fouts, Kimberly Burdick and Don Whitney (pictured, from left) swore to uphold the APCO International constitution and bylaws.

The members of the Executive Council met on the previous Friday, Aug. 17, and, by region, elected members to replace the outgoing members of the Board of Directors.

Each region has two representatives, and directors serve two-year terms, with none serving more than four consecutive years. To help provide for continuity of service, one director from each region is selected in an odd-numbered year, and the other is selected in an even-numbered year.

The members of the Board of Directors:

  • James J. McFarland of the  Pennsylvania Chapter was elected to represent the East Coast region.
  • David W. Clemons of the Atlantic Chapter continues his term representing the East Coast region.
  • Matthew J. Stillwell, RPL, of the Oklahoma Chapter was elected to represent the Gulf Coast region.
  • Debbie L. Gailbreath, RPL, of the Florida Chapter continues her term representing the Gulf Coast region.
  • Robin Tieman, RPL, of the Missouri Chapter was elected to represent the North Central region.
  • Julie J. Righter of the Nebraska Chapter continues her term representing the North Central region.
  • Kimberly D. Burdick, RPL, of the Montana Chapter was elected to represent the Western region.
  • Peggy A. Fouts of the Washington Chapter continues her term representing the Western region.
  • Don Whitney will continue to represent the Commercial Advisory Council on the Board of Directors.

The regions are:

  • Western States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana,Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Guam and Samoa.
  • North Central: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin.
  • East Coast: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina,Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C.
  • Gulf Coast: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, and the International Chapter.
