Harrison County, Miss., Modernizes Its Emergency Incident Response by Moving to the InterAct Public Safety Cloud

Company Representative November 7, 2012 Product & Service Announcements

Winston-Salem, NC (November 6th , 2012) – The Harrison County, MS Sheriff’s Office has selected advanced cloud-based mobile solutions from InterAct.  This technology will help their officers better respond to emergencies in the field by accessing and sharing mission critical information where and when they need it, from any Internet connected device.

By deploying InterAct’s InterDEx data-sharing platform Harrison County is now part of a much larger network of agencies that support public safety interoperability by sharing their data across jurisdictions, state lines and even software vendors.  Law enforcement officers from participating agencies use InterAct MobileCop on their laptops and InterAct PocketCop on their smartphones to access InterDEx.  This inter-agency approach to data sharing allows officers to obtain real-time, actionable information about criminals and criminal behavior inside and outside of their jurisdictions.

”There has never been a more critical time to implement technologies that keep our first responders informed and help keep our communities safe,” said Sheriff Melvin T. Brisolara, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, “InterDEx and InterAct’s Mobile solutions clearly demonstrate the superior technology advantages we had been looking for. Our deputies are able to be more effective at fighting and deterring crime now because they use their laptops to access all of the information they need, no matter where they are.”

InterDEx demonstrates InterAct’s continued commitment to building the Public Safety Cloud by delivering a next generation data sharing and agency interoperability platform.  “Our customers are connecting the right people, to the right data, at the right time and improving public safety in communities all over the country,” said Mike McGarry, Senior Vice President and General Manger of InterAct Products. “The InterDEx platform already connects agencies in 7 states and currently shares data with over 3,000 users.  Data from so many sources delivers a key advantage in fighting and deterring crime in communities across the country.”
