TeleCommunication Systems Named Awardee on $10 Billion Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services Contract

ANNAPOLIS, MD ­ November 5, 2012 ­ TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced it has been selected as one of 20 awardees under the Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services (GTACS) contract. The multiple-awardee, Indefinite Delivery ­ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle has an estimated ceiling of $10 billion over five years.

This contract enables DoD agencies to purchase TCS¹ turnkey family of deployable satellite systems and associated support services for the Warfighter Tactical Communications Systems and Services (WTCSS) through the Department of the Army, Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and
Technology, Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T’s), Special Projects Office, Northeast Regional Response Center (NRRC).

This award gives DoD agencies the opportunity to purchase TCS¹ TotalCom solutions, consisting of deployable SATCOM and baseband equipment, as well as field support staff and other related services in order to strengthen their vital mission of protecting our nation. TCS looks forward to supplying our current and new DoD customers for the next five years via this contract.²
