9-1-1 Honors Awards Call for Nominations

Company Representative January 10, 2013 APCO, Product & Service Announcements

The NG9-1-1 Institute annually seeks nominations for individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to improving and advancing 9-1-1 services. The 2,000 member organization, in conjunction with the Congressional Next Gen 9-1-1 Caucus it supports, is proud to accept entries for the 2013 9-1-1 Honors Awards.

For nearly a decade the Next Gen 9-1-1 Institute has celebrated the work of professionals in emergency communications; those whose effort and dedication to public safety reflect the growing scope and importance of 9-1-1 service delivery, ranking them among the “best of the best”.

This year’s awards ceremony will reflect on the tenth anniversary of the Next Gen 9-1-1 Caucus and the Institute. The awards ceremony will take place Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at the 9-1-1 Honors Gala. The Co-chairs of the Congressional Next Gen 9-1-1 Caucus have been invited to present the awards.

The NG9-1-1 Institute is now accepting nominations for seven award categories:

•             Citizen in Action Award

•             First Responder Award

•             9-1-1 Professional Award

•             Government Leader Award

•             Industry / Technology Professional Private / Public Sector Award

•             Outstanding 9-1-1 Center / Program Award

•             9-1-1 Education / Awareness / Outreach Award

The submission form and instructions can be found online at www.ng911institute.org.  Anyone who fits the descriptions is eligible to be nominated and anyone can submit a nomination. You DO NOT NEED to be a member of the NG9-1-1 Institute to submit a nomination or to receive an award.

All nominations must be received by Monday, January 28, 2013 at Midnight Eastern Standard Time.

A committee of NG9-1-1 Institute members will review every nomination and select the honorees who will be invited to attend the 10th Annual 9-1-1 Honors Gala on March 19, 2013.
