Zetron Will Demo the First Interface to Sprint Direct Connect LIVE at IWCE

Company Representative February 13, 2013 Product & Service Announcements

Redmond, WA – Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical solutions worldwide, will give live demonstrations of its MAX Dispatch console interface to Sprint’s Direct Connect (SDC) service at the 2013 International Wireless Communication Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 11-15, 2013. Zetron partnered with Sprint and Qualcomm to develop two Zetron SDC interfaces, one to the MAX Dispatch console and one to Zetron’s Series 4000.

Zetron is first console vender to offer interfaces to SDC.

Just in time for iDEN users

Zetron’s SDC interfaces come at a crucial time for iDEN users. Sprint is decommissioning its iDEN systems in the U.S. in July 2013. The SDC service, Sprint’s newest Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) push-to-talk (PTT) product, will replace iDEN, offering improved voice quality and faster data speeds as well as its familiar PTT features.

Easing the transition to SDC

In addition to supporting SDC, Zetron’s interfaces also support existing iDEN systems that require an upgrade of certain channels to SDC. As a result, the Zetron interfaces not only offer Sprint customers the combined benefits of using Zetron systems with SDC, but also help customers make the transition from iDEN to the SDC service.

“The development of Zetron’s new interfaces to Sprint Direct Connect underscores our commitment to providing solutions that enhance interoperability and compatibility between systems,” said Zetron Vice President of Product Management, Kathy Broadwell. “Zetron is pleased to be the first console manufacturer to offer an SDC interface to assist those who must migrate away from iDEN. It is the latest example of Zetron offering more interfaces than any other vendor.”
