NICE Opens Nominations for 2013 PSAPs’ Finest Awards

Paramus, New Jersey, February 19, 2013, NICE Systems today announced that nominations are now open for the 2013 PSAPs’ Finest Awards, an annual program that recognizes exceptional people involved in public safety communications. Nominations are accepted in four PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) categories: Director, Line Supervisor, Technician, and Telecommunicator of the year. NICE introduced the awards program in 2006, and has recognized 31 individuals since then.

Each year, winners are selected by a panel of judges who evaluate candidates based on their achievements, knowledge, and years of service to public safety. This year’s judging panel includes: Shawnda Brandon (9-1-1 Administrator, City of Dallas 9-1-1); KD Seeley, (Deputy Director, Thurston 9-1-1 Communications, TCOMM911); Robert J. Haffner, (Director 9-1-1 Communications, City of Bethlehem, PA); Ike Lowry (Director, Sullivan County Emergency Communications District 9-1-1 Center); and Matthew S. Rechkemmer, (E 9-1-1 Program Manager, Lee County Public Safety).

Nominations for the 2013 PSAPs’ Finest Awards can be submitted on the NICE website through June 1, 2013. Winners will be announced in August at the 79th Annual APCO Conference and Expo in a special ceremony at the NICE booth.
