York County Department of Emergency Services Advances 9-1-1 Technology

Company Representative March 18, 2013 Industry

Troy, Mich.— York County Department of Emergency Services (YCDES), Pennsylvania, is moving to the next generation of 9-1-1 technology from their current software partner. The YCDES will soon implement New World Systems’ Aegis™ Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Enterprise.NET, developed on the Microsoft .NET platform.

“At YCDES, we always make our best effort to keep up with technology advancements,” said Eric Bistline, Executive Director of YCDES. “Over the next weeks and months, the 9-1-1 department will be working to install new hardware in preparation for this state-of-the-art software. New World’s CAD Enterprise.NET will provide enhancements and improvements that will benefit not only YCDES Dispatch staff, but our first responders as well.”

New World’s reliable and scalable CAD Enterprise.NET is designed to quickly and effectively manage emergency response for large dispatch centers and multi-jurisdiction public safety agencies. It leverages the latest advancements in CAD technology, embedded ESRI® mapping, and proximity-based and resource-based dispatching to facilitate fast decision making and accurate resource management.

“This upcoming enhancement is a result of months of planning and the collaborative effort between YCDES staff, New World and first responders,” said Bistline. “New World’s solutions have worked very well for us in the past. They have been a great partner and we are all very excited about the new features this .NET application will bring to public safety in York County.”

The YCDES has been a New World CAD customer since 2005 and recently made the decision to move to the new software to meet their future technology needs. YCDES serves more than 400,000 York County residents, providing communications for 23 Law Enforcement agencies, 63 Fire Departments and 35 EMS agencies.
