GeoComm, MidAmerica GIS Consortium (MAGIC), St. Clair County Illinois9-1-1/ETSB, and Washington University St Louis Team Up to Offer a Free GIS and 9-1-1 Seminar

Company Representative May 21, 2013 Product & Service Announcements

GeoComm is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with MidAmerica GIS Consortium (MAGIC), St. Clair County Illinois 9-1-1/ETSB, and Washington University St. Louis to bring GIS and 9-1-1 professionals a free GIS and 9-1-1 seminar.

In emergency response, it is vital for GIS and 9-1-1 personnel to continue working together.  This seminar is for anyone who is responsible for bringing 9-1-1 data and systems up to date.  The seminar will help build the foundation for understanding requirements, roles, responsibilities, and standards for present 9-1-1 systems and Next Generation 9-1-1.  Topics at this seminar include:  9-1-1 and GIS today, developing communication between 9-1-1 and GIS professionals, where is 9-1-1 going and what are the new GIS functions, NENA GIS model for public safety, and roadmap to future GIS requirements.

GeoComm’s GIS Consultant, Kathy Liljequist, will be presenting during a portion of this seminar.  Kathy has been associated with 9-1-1 for over 15 years, holds a master’s degree in Geography, and is a GIS instructor for NENA at the national level.  She has worked on hundreds of mapping projects for 9-1-1 applications and has also developed and implemented customized training programs and workflow procedures involving various aspects of 9-1-1.

This free seminar will be held on May 29, 2013 at Washington University – West Campus.  For more information visit www.magicgis.org
