Downers Grove’s Porter New President of Illinois Chiefs of Police
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Downers Grove Police Chief Robert A. Porter took office as president of the 1,200 member Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) at the organization’s Summer Conference in Downers Grove on June 21, along with six other new officers.
Chief Porter has been an officer for the Village of Downers Grove for more than 25 years, including over ten as its Chief. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Lewis University. He is also a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff & Command, and the FBI National Academy. He is an active member of the DuPage County Police Chiefs Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Also installed on the new Board of Officers were Fred W. Hayes, 1st Vice President; Frank Kaminski, 2nd Vice President; Steven Casstevens, 3rd Vice President; James Kuchenbecker, 4th Vice President; Russell B. Laine, Parliamentarian; and R.T. Finney, Immediate Past President.
