Communications Specialist Uses APCO EMD Guide Cards to Save Toddler’s Life

APCO International July 17, 2013 APCO, Industry

On Saturday, July 13, Flagler County (FL) Sheriff’s Communications Specialist Genice Caccavale received a phone call from Alicia Fennell who called to report her granddaughter had fallen into the pool and was not breathing. Caccavale instructed the grandmother on administering CPR using APCO’s EMD Guide Cards. By the time Flagler County Emergency Services medical personnel arrived on scene, the child was breathing and was then transported to Florida Hospital Flagler and then transferred to Wolfson’s Children Hospital in Jacksonville. She was released from the hospital Sunday morning and is reported to be in excellent condition.
