Cobb County (Georgia) 9-1-1 Communications Receives APCO P33 Certification

Cobb County 9-1-1 Communications in Marietta, GA, has met or exceeded the minimum training standards for the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International Project 33 Training Program Certification-2010 and has been awarded certification as of July 10, 2013.

Public safety agencies utilize APCO Project 33 (APCO P33) Agency Training Program Certification as a formal mechanism to certify their training programs in meeting with the APCO American National Standards (ANS). Initial and continuing training for public safety telecommunicators is important as they provide essential services to the public in an expanding and rapidly changing environment.

Terry Hall, president of APCO International, said, “Ensuring that Public Safety Telecommunicators are trained to a nationally recognized standard is critical in providing emergency communications services to the public. By achieving APCO P33 certification, Cobb County (Georgia) 911 Communications has demonstrated their dedication to the community they serve and the public safety industry, along with their commitment to provide high quality training to vital personnel.”
