PITTSBURGH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton announced that it has appointed The Honorable William C. Anderson, ESQ. as strategic development executive, Government Segment. Anderson will be based in Washington, D.C. on Eaton’s government business development team responsible for promoting overall power management and energy solutions to the government.

Prior to Eaton, Anderson held significant roles in the energy technology commercialization, environmental sustainability, defense, real estate asset optimization and business development industries. As the former Assistant Secretary of the United States Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics, and the Air Force’s Senior Energy Executive under President George W. Bush, Anderson led efforts to test, certify and fly alternative aviation fuels, and developed renewable electric generation facilities for U.S. military installations. For these efforts, Anderson received the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service and the Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management.

Bill’s demonstrated success in key technology and government positions combined with his international and diversified experience make him uniquely qualified for Eaton’s Government Segment,” said Ken Narod, director, Government Sales and Solutions, Eaton. “His leadership will be critical as we continue to help address some of the U.S. government’s greatest energy management challenges.”

Anderson’s diverse experience also includes a variety of financial and tax consulting positions at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., Arthur Andersen & Co., and Ryder Systems, Inc. as well as a long stretch at General Electric Company where he held a variety of positions including tax counsel, general counsel, director of environmental and quality affairs, general manager and senior counsel, Environmental Health and Safety. In these roles, Anderson led a broad range of functions including manufacturing, supply chain, business development, quality, international taxation, legal and legislative affairs, environmental stewardship and worker safety.

To continue his commitment to U.S. veterans and their families, Anderson serves on the board of directors of the Raisin Hope Foundation, an organization focused on raising awareness of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and supporting survivors of TBI, including wounded warriors. He also serves as senior advisor and spokesman for Morale Entertainment Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing entertainment opportunities to U.S. warfighters downrange and their families, veterans and disabled warrior heroes. He actively supports the next generation of leaders and cutting edge sustainability technologies as a member of the Business Executives Advisory Board of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Business and Technology.

Anderson is an honors graduate of Washington College in Chestertown, Md., and earned his law degree with honors from Syracuse University. He has also studied in the master’s program for international business at the University of Miami. Anderson is a member of the Maryland and Florida Bar Associations and is a regular contributor to Second Line of Defense, an online defense magazine.
