V-COMM Instrumental in New York City Subway DAS Launch for Transit Wireless

Company Representative September 3, 2013 Industry

Times Square, New York City– V-COMM, a leading New Jersey based telecommunications engineering firm, assisted Transit Wireless in launching its New York City subway DAS network. V-COMM provided independent design review and system certification services to Transit Wireless. These services include review of coaxial and optic systems as well as coverage certification in order for Transit Wireless to meet its Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with its wireless carrier customers.

“V-COMM’s breadth and depth of wireless network experience in unique DAS networks made V-COMM an excellent partner for our design review and certification services,” said Bill Bayne, CEO of Transit Wireless. “Our significant DAS and transit venue experience were the necessary requisites to handle a venue as complex as the New York City subway system,” explained Dominic Villecco, President of V-COMM, “we look forward to helping Transit Wireless launch the remainder of the 277 stations over the next several years.”

The first six stations were launched by Transit Wireless in 2011 as the initial build system. This year, 30 additional stations were built by Transit Wireless, including Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Columbus Circle. There are now 36 wireless-operational stations in the New York subway system and V-COMM’s involvement has proven valuable to the completion of Phase one of the project.

V-COMM is a leading provider of integrated network engineering, radio frequency engineering, and business services. V-COMM delivers the needed expertise and cost-effective solutions to wireless operators and governmental agencies. V-COMM also provides design and design/build services for In-building, In-tunnel and other wireless telecommunications networks.
