Zetron-Cassidian Communications Agreement Offers Big Benefits to Radio Network/Console Customers
Redmond, WA, U.S.A., October 17, 2013 – Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communications solutions worldwide, announced that it has signed a master supply agreement with Cassidian Communications. This agreement continues the cooperation between the two companies to design and develop products that integrate and operate smoothly and consistently with each other. It also offers important benefits to customers by providing them with open-standards-based dispatch and P25 radio network solutions that are robust, reliable, and highly interoperable.
The new master supply agreement is a logical extension of the highly successful joint projects Zetron and Cassidian Communications have undertaken in the recent past.
Zetron’s Advanced Communications System (Acom) utilizing CSSI-based technology was a key component of the CORP25 solution Cassidian Communications provided to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for the 2010 G8 and G20 summits in Ontario, Canada. The CORP25 digital trunked radio network provided the solution’s radio infrastructure, while Zetron’s Acom served as its console system. The combined solution worked flawlessly during the summits despite an extremely high rate of usage. A similar solution developed in 2011 for Cumberland County in Tennessee was just as successful. It included an Acom dispatch system connected directly to a county-wide CORP25 digital radio network through a P25 CSSI interface.
“We are extremely pleased to have entered into this agreement with Cassidian Communications,” said Zetron Vice President of Product Management, Kathy Broadwell. “We have worked very successfully with Cassidian over the years, and we look forward to a partnership that formalizes and extends that success even further. Acom and our newest next-generation console, MAX Dispatch, have been very well received in the industry. Combining them with Cassidian Communications’ robust infrastructure enhances the value to customers because it offers a solution that seamlessly integrates the console into the radio network.”
“Cassidian Communications is committed to providing open-standards-based, multi-vendor radio network solutions that meet the needs of the public safety community for mission-critical communications,” said Marty Christensen, Cassidian Communications LMR Product Area Business Manager. “We look forward to continuing to work with Zetron to support the P25 standard and interoperability between manufacturers.”
