GeoComm Selected by North Central Texas Council of Governments to Provide Web-based 9-1-1 Dispatch Mapping

Company Representative November 18, 2013 Product & Service Announcements

St. Cloud, MN – GeoComm and North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) have initiated a project to implement GeoLynx Server for 9-1-1 call mapping in 44 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

NCTCOG selected GeoComm’s GeoLynx Server, an Esri ArcGIS for Server-based 9-1-1 call mapping system, to add comprehensive geospatial functionality to its existing NG9-1-1 infrastructure.  GeoLynx Server will combine NCTCOG’s detailed Geographic Information System (GIS) base maps with real-time emergency caller locations for 9-1-1 call takers at 44 PSAPs across the NCTCOG region.  GeoLynx Server will provide 9-1-1 call takers and dispatchers Common Operating Picture (COP) for processing 9-1-1 calls from wireline, wireless, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication devices.

“GeoComm, as well as numerous stakeholders in the NCTCOG region, are eager to deploy a comprehensive solution that provides new 9-1-1 mapping functions to its existing NG infrastructure,” John Bryant, GeoComm President & CEO remarked.  “The solution will offer unmatched NG9-1-1 GIS mapping capabilities for 9-1-1 call takers across the region.  We are pleased to be working with NCTCOG and are looking forward to the project.”

NCTCOG answers over 1,125,000 9-1-1 calls per year at 44 PSAPs in 15 different counties.
