Chicago Sun-Times

A Lake Forest man called in a false 9-1-1 report so police would eject an unwanted partygoer from his home and, instead, spent the night in jail himself.

Police charged Robert Cameron, 50, 1029 South Timber Lane, Lake Forest, with felony disorderly conduct for making a 9-1-1 call in which he reported that an intruder forced entry into his house.

Numerous police units responded to the emergency call at 10:54 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, and cleared the area in and around the home in the 1000 block of South Timber Lane.

During the investigation, police discovered Cameron falsely reported a break-in so a guest he had a disagreement with would be ejected from his home.

Robert and Mary Cameron both face charges of battery for pushing police officers while they were in their home.

Robert Cameron was processed, held overnight and taken to Lake County Jail. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

Mary Cameron was processed and released on a $1,500 recognizance bond.
