Troup County E-9-1-1 Modernizes Mapping Application

Agency Representative March 17, 2014 Industry, Product & Service Announcements

GOLDSBORO, NC – Geographic Technologies Group (GTG)
Located about an hour south of Atlanta, along the I-85 corridor, sits a community of about 30,000 Georgians. The City of LaGrange may be best known for the Nancy Harts, an all-female militia that protected the city during the Civil War and LaGrange College, which happens to be the oldest private college in the state of Georgia. In 2010, the City of LaGrange was voted as one of America’s 100 Best Communities for Young People as recognized by America’s Promised Alliance.

While the all-female militia may have been the protectors of LaGrange during the Civil War, the responsibility of helping to protect LaGrange now falls on the men and women who work at the Troup County Emergency 9-1-1 Center (Troup County E-9-1-1). The center receives and dispatches emergency and non-emergency calls for the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, Troup County Fire Department, LaGrange Police Department, LaGrange Fire Department and Troup County Emergency Medical Services. It is estimated that Troup County E-9-1-1 receives over 250,000 calls annually.
