APCO Files to Revise PSAP Service Capability Criteria Rating Scale

APCO International July 23, 2014 APCO

Alexandria, VA – On July 11, 2014, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International filed a Project Initiation Notification to revise APCO/NENA ANS 1.102.3-201x Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Service Capability Criteria Rating Scale.

The revision of APCO NENA ANS 1.102.3-201x PSAP Service Capability Criteria Rating Scale will ensure the standard addresses the current state of the industry, including new and emerging operational issues and procedures.

“This standard revision will assist PSAPs in assessing their level of preparedness, survivability and sustainability amidst a wide range of natural and man-made events,” said APCO President Gigi Smith.

Once completed, these draft standards can be downloaded for review at http://www.apco911.org/standards/call-to-action-review-a-comment.html.

Comments on this project proposal must be submitted via e-mail to standards@apcointl.org by August 11, 2014.
