Harris Unveils New Advanced Access Control Software for Public Safety Users

Company Representative August 4, 2014 Product & Service Announcements

New Orleans, La., August 4, 2014

Advisory Facts

  • Advanced Access Control (AAC) provides a secure means for managing and controlling access to radios operating in P25 Trunking mode, providing a multi-factor authentication when a user wishes to access Harris’ Radio Personality Manager (RPM) for radio programming.
  • Supports three types of license including a PC-Locked File, a Master Dongle and a Distribution Dongle.
  • Offers flexibility to program radios from multiple locations.

“In the past, public safety users would need to bring their radios to a specific PC for programing, which can be an inefficient and cumbersome process.  Harris AAC gives system admins the flexibility and mobility to securely manage and control personalities that are using public safety systems in a way that lets them spend more time performing their duties and less time in a manual programming process,” Scott E. Haerr, Product Manager Harris Corporation – RF Communications Division, said.
