Sungard Implements Automated Secure Alarm Protocol

APCO International August 12, 2014 Product & Service Announcements

SunGard Public Sector Implements 2nd ASAP Interface Solution

SunGard Public Sector has successfully implemented its second Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) interface. Morgan County, Ala. received its first production alarm call directly into ONESolution CAD on Friday, August 8. Morgan County’s first production call came from Monitronics Security and was a residential alarm. The ASAP Alarm Interface is based on the ANSI/APCO/CSAA 2.101.2-2014 standard for alarm monitoring companies to directly transmit alarm event data into the appropriate CAD system. This direct computer to computer interface dramatically reduces alarm response times and human error by removing the requirement for a voice call between the alarm monitoring company and the 9-1-1 center. In addition, it frees up valuable telecommunicator time to answer 9-1-1 calls and assist other callers. The Morgan County ASAP implementation is the first in the state of Alabama.
