APCO Seeks Workgroup Members to revise a Standard for Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Service Criteria Rating Scale

APCO International April 24, 2015 APCO

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International filed a Project Initiation Notification to revise a standard for Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Service Capability Criteria Rating Scale.

APCO / NENA ANS 1.102.2-2010 is intended to assist Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) Managers and their governing authorities to identify their current level of service capability. An assessment tool is provided to objectively assess capabilities of the PSAP against models representing the best level of preparedness, survivability, and sustainability amidst a wide range of natural and man- made events.

APCO is now seeking volunteers to become members of the Working Group that will review and revise this standard.  The Working Group will be under the direction of the APCO Standards Development Committee and the Working Group Lead will report to the chair of the SDC.  APCO is seeking diverse participants with backgrounds in PSAP operations and management, technologists, and general interest participants such as interested government agencies and entities.  The Standards Development Committee has limited the size of the group to no more than 15 people.  The SDC chair and vice-chair, with the assistance of APCO Staff, will conduct a selection process once the application deadline is reached.

All Interested persons should complete the online application at: SDC Application

Application deadline is April 30, 2015.  Selections will be made within 2 weeks of the deadline and all applicants will be notified of their status.
