Meet Your AFC Advisors: John Daly (Florida)

AFC, APCO’s frequency coordination department, is pleased to introduce its network of dedicated local advisor volunteers. APCO’s advisors are responsible for frequency coordination in their home state and we would like to bring awareness and recognition to the dedication they exhibit on a daily basis. Please feel free to reach out to our local advisors with any questions dealing with FCC Part 90 licensing and frequency coordination.

johndalyJohn Daly has worked in public safety communications for 36 years and served as an APCO Frequency Advisor in Florida since 1991. John has been employed by Collier County since 1994 as the County’s telecommunications manager. John is responsible for operation and maintenance of the County’s 800 MHz public safety radio system. The radio system provides communication services for the various public safety and government agencies serving the county’s nearly 2,000 square miles. John is also responsible for implementation of a P25 digital trunked radio system, approved by Collier County in 2015, which will replace the current legacy system.

John began his career in public safety communications in 1980 serving as a communications operator and shift supervisor for the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Communications Manager for the Naples Police Department and as an EMT for Collier County EMS.

John and his wife Kelly live in Naples. They have two grown children a daughter April who is a special needs educator in New York City and a Joel who is a Captain in the U.S. Army currently stationed in Germany.  John and Kelly enjoy traveling to visit family and friends.
