Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has issued a call for participation for workgroup members to participate in the creation of an ANSI standard addressing advanced automated collision notification (AACN).

The AACN data set will benefit citizens who subscribe to a telematics service, the providers of telematics services, 9-1-1 PSAPs, first responders and level one trauma centers. A standards-based product will assist and support the missions of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The data will be available to support the opinions of the McKenzie study and the findings of CDC Expert Panel.

We are looking for a well-balanced group that will include contributions from technical and operational subject matter experts. The time and day that the workgroup will meet is yet to be established.

The application deadline is January 20, 2017 and selections will be made within two weeks of the deadline. All applicants will be notified of their status.
