Meet Your AFC Advisors: Gene Thaxton (Oklahoma)
February 23, 2017Gene Thaxton has been Oklahoma’s APCO frequency advisor since 1987. He is the Director of Oklahoma’s Law Enforcement Telecommunications System and is responsible for obtaining the first, forty 800 MHz channels to be issued by the Federal Communications System for Oklahoma’s 800 MHz Trunked System.

February 16, 2017Dave Saffel began his public safety communications career joining the West Virginia State Police as a chief technician of 14 counties of the state in April of 1977. In 1992, he became the chief engineer of that agency and still serves in that capacity. In 2000, he also graduated from Fairmont State University with a Bachelor Degree in Business.
