OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – March 16, 2017 – Nash County, North Carolina, has selected Black & Veatch to provide technical consulting services in support of their Land Mobile Radio (LMR) upgrade project. The new system will increase coverage, reliability and quality for Nash County’s first responders’ radio communications system.

Black & Veatch professionals will perform a needs assessment of the county’s current public safety communications infrastructure, create a conceptual LMR system design, review proposals from LMR suppliers and provide the county with a comprehensive system enhancement recommendation report. The public safety communications LMR system is currently utilized by fire services, emergency medical services (EMS) and local police departments.

“Black & Veatch professionals assisted in the procurement of our current public safety radio system, and are well-versed in our particular communications needs,” said D. Scott Rogers, Deputy Director, Nash County Emergency Services.

“We look forward to continuing this key client relationship,” said Chris Krafft, Vice President of Public Safety in Black & Veatch’s telecommunications business. “We are committed to providing best value solutions that will increase interoperability and redundancy for Nash County’s first responders.”
