APCO Files a Project Initiation and Seeks Writing Group Members to Create a Standard for Key Performance Indicators for Public Safety Communications Personnel

APCO International October 6, 2017 APCO

Alexandria, VA – The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has filed a Project Initiation with ANSI and has issued a call for participation for workgroup members to participate in the creation of an ANSI standard addressing Key Performance Indicators for Public Safety Communications Personnel.

This standard will provide communications center management with key performance indicators as they relate to personnel performance measurements, accuracy and quality of information logged or provided by communications center personnel.

“Measurability is a key principle of management and this initiative will provide communications center managers with the standards for measurements necessary to gauge the effectiveness of personnel performance,” said Martha Carter, President of APCO International.

APCO International is looking for a well-balanced group that will include contributions from technical and operational subject matter experts. The time and day that the writing group will meet is yet to be established. It is anticipated that the writing group will meet via conference calls bi-weekly for the duration of this project.  Calls typically last no more than one-hour per session.

All interested persons should complete the online application and indicate their preference for this workgroup at Key Performance Indicators for PSC personnel.

Application deadline is November 13, 2017.  Selections will be made within two weeks of the deadline and all applicants will be notified of their status.
