Comba Telecom Joins Citizens’ Broadband Radio Service Alliance

Company Representative March 1, 2018 Product & Service Announcements

(28 February 2018 – Milpitas, CA) – Comba Telecom, Inc. (Subsidiary of Comba Telecom Holdings LTD.), a global leading wireless solutions provider, today announced they have joined the Citizens’ Broadband Radio Service Alliance.

The CBRS Alliance was founded by Google, Qualcomm, Intel, Nokia, Ruckus and Federated Wireless to evangelize LTE-based CBRS technology, use cases and business opportunities for its members.  The Alliance will also establish a product certification program for LTE equipment vendors in the U.S. to ensure compatibility and interoperability in the 3.5GHz band.

“Cellular data is expected to increase exponentially over the next few years and CBRS will help alleviate capacity and coverage problems and create new opportunities and business models,” said JT Park, Comba’s Product Manager. “We look to work with Alliance to develop new CBRS solutions to meet customers need and demands while ensuring it meets the Alliances’ certification standards.”

CBRS (Citizens’ Broadband Radio Service) was finalized by the FCC in 2015 which reserves 150MHz of shared spectrum for use by commercial entities in the 3.5GHz band (3550-3700 MHz) for commercial use. 80MHz of the spectrum will be designated for unlicensed use and the remaining 70MHz will be subject to auction for a period of 3 years. CBRS will give both wireless operators and independent enterprise businesses the opportunity to provide additional coverage and capacity for private LTE networks to their customers.
