Zetron and ESChat to Demonstrate Integrated Dispatch Console and Broadband Push-to-Talk Solution at IWCE 2019

Company Representative February 28, 2019 Product & Service Announcements

Redmond, Wash., February 27, 2019 – Zetron, a global leader in integrated mission critical communications technology, and ESChat, a leading provider of carrier independent Secure Broadband Push to Talk (PTT), today announced they will be demonstrating an integrated Dispatch and Broadband Push-to-Talk (PTT) solution at IWCE 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As Broadband PTT continues to grow in the public safety and commercial business markets, customers require integration of components traditionally associated with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. Direct Broadband PTT to Dispatch Console integration has been widely recognized as among the highest priorities for these customers.

The two companies have integrated their solutions in the past using both basic and advanced methods. Basic integration methods only allow for Group-based communication without the ability to pass User IDs between systems. Advanced integration has been performed when both products are connected to a common digital LMR system, such as P25 (using the ISSI and CSSI interfaces) or Digital Mobile Radio (DMR), using the AIS interface. This demonstration is different, as it supports all the features of the Advanced Integration, without the requirement for the P25 or DMR system.

Mission critical communications require interoperability between disparate system components and vendors. ESChat and Zetron are committed to the use and continued development of standards-based interoperability.

ESChat and Zetron systems have been integrated using the AIS standard, which is the console interface for DMR systems. The ESChat and Zetron solution via AIS supports Group, Emergency and Private Calls, as well as the passing of User IDs.

The AIS integrated solution is anticipated to be commercially available in the Spring of 2019.

The following embedded image demonstrates a working example of the Zetron and ESChat integration providing cross-device interoperability.

For more information, visit the ESChat (#325) or Zetron (2325) booths at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas, March 6th and 7th.
