Silent Key: Gary Lee Peters

APCO International December 9, 2021 APCO

Gary Peters, president and CEO of ProComm Alaska, LLC and an active APCO member, passed away Nov. 16 at the age of 67 in Palmer, Arkansas. He was a resident of Talkeetna, Alaska. Peters was a giant in the field of telecommunications – well known and much loved by friends and colleagues.

Peters was a stalwart proponent of Alaska communications, particularly in public safety. He found his passion in telecommunications in the 1980s and founded his own company, ProComm Alaska, in 2000.

Peters set a standard in business for excellence and integrity, emphasizing outcomes that genuinely improved Alaska communities.

Peters is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda, children Angela, Josh, Christina, Jarod and Chaynah, brother Mike and 15 grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. at Awaken Alaska Church, 5295 Juneau St. in Anchorage.
