Johnny Lee Platt Jr., RPL, CPE, passed away January 11 at the age of 37. Platt was an APCO member and had a dedicated and decorated career in public safety. He was deputy director with Johnson County Emergency Management and Communications in Olathe, Kansas, and was active on the Agency Training Program Committee and Bylaws Committee.

Platt was raised in Walcott, Iowa, and he is survived by his parents, John and Christine Platt of Muscatine, Iowa; and sister Jenna (Brandyn) Cobb of Norway, Iowa.

A service celebrating his life is planned 1-6 p.m. at the Walcott Coliseum, 116 E. Bryant St. Walcott, Iowa.
