Successful Install of Zetron’s MAX Dispatch Sets a New Standard
Redmond, WA, U.S.A., October 18, 2011
In order to ensure that first responders are sent to the scene of an emergency as quickly as possible, public-safety dispatchers must have communications equipment that is reliable and easy to use. That’s why, with the help of Zetron and Zetron reseller Valence Wireless & Communications, the Shoshone County, Idaho, sheriff’s office recently installed Zetron’s MAX Dispatch system. MAX Dispatch is a pure, end-to-end IP-based system that has received high praise for its innovative design, reliability and ease of use. Those involved in the Shoshone County project agree that the system is not only living up to these positive reviews and delivering the features and functionality public safety agencies require, but doing so at a very competitive cost.
“It’s beautiful,” says Valence lead systems technician, Kevin Timmons, who helped with the installation. “I’ve never seen anything like it. Zetron has set the standard for the other companies. Competitors’ pricier IP-based products don’t even come close to MAX Dispatch. At the same time, MAX Dispatch offers a level of redundancy and reliability that no other IP-based console is yet able to provide.”
“The competitor’s IP console is a finger-painting,” adds Valence technician, Jeremy Pointer. “MAX Dispatch is a Picasso.”
Choosing Zetron and Valence
Shoshone County sheriff’s office communications/IT supervisor, Derek Dofelmire, says they chose the MAX Dispatch system because of Shoshone County’s past positive experiences with Zetron and Valence, and the MAX Dispatch system’s forward-looking design.
“For eight years, we used the Zetron dispatch console Valence installed for us,” he says. “We’ve been extremely happy with both the product and the service. So when Valence suggested we install MAX Dispatch, we thought ‘Why not stay with vendors who have been solid and reliable, and move with them into the IP-based technology that we know is our future?’”
Tailoring the console to the task
Dofelmire says that he finds the MAX Dispatch user interface especially useful: “The flexible UI allows us to tailor a console to fit the task at hand. If a dispatcher is working only fire and EMS, we bring the fire and EMS functions to the fore and hide the others. Later, if we need everyone to handle all of our agencies, we can easily set the consoles up for that.”
