November 3, 2011 Thursday: Tribune-Review (Greensburg, PA)–A Washington County man is charged with falsely reporting that he was threatened with a gun and knife last month by a Fayette County man.

Raymond Rush, 42, of 399 Ridge Road, Eighty Four, is charged by Southwest Regional Police Department with making false alarms to public safety agencies and making false reports to law enforcement agencies in connection with the incident at 4:45 p.m. Oct. 11.

According to police, Rush telephoned Washington County 911 alleging that a Millsboro man threatened to cut Rush’s throat and shoot him in the back of the head, then followed Rush through Bentleyville as he fled in his vehicle.

Police said video evidence obtained of Rush in Bentleyville showed that the threats were false. Police said Rush later said that he made up the story hoping that police would arrest the Millsboro man, who he alleged has threatened him in the past.

The complaints against Rush were filed before Ellsworth District Judge Curtis Thompson.
