A 911 hang-up call ended with deputies arresting a San Carlos Park couple after finding a bag of marijuana next to an assault rifle, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew Adam Levine, 23, faces felony charges of possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and drug equipment possession.

Matthew Adam Levine, 23, and Megan Ann Yoder, 22, of the 8300 block of Wren Road, were both arrested Sunday by Lee deputies.

Megan Ann Yoder, 22, faces battery and evidence tampering charges.

Deputies say they could immediately smell marijuana as Levine greeted them at the front to tell them everything was OK when they responded to a 911 hang-up call. According to arrest reports, Levine had dried blood on his bottom lip and was tried to wipe it off. He admitted he was in an argument with his girlfriend, Yoder, but denied any physical contact between the two.

Reports say Yoder was crying uncontrollably and had to be calmed before she told deputies she had slapped Levine in the face.

Deputies followed Levine to his bedroom to retrieve his ID after he told them he had an AR-15 assault riffle in the house, reports said. The rifle was in two pieces and set on the floor next to a bag which contained marijuana. Reports say deputies detained Levine and placed him in a patrol car.

Upon re-entering the home, deputies saw Yoder in the bathroom flushing marijuana down the toilet and detained her in handcuffs.

According to reports, deputies found numerous AR-15 rounds and drug paraphernalia on a shelf in the bedroom, along with $870.00 in cash rolled up and secured in a rubber band. The total amount of marijuana found in the residence was 423.4 grams.
